Welcome to the Stay Fit and Keeping Balance walking group! This program is open to adults 55 and older living in the community in the Niagara region. The goal of the program is to improve the health and well-being of participants to help them stay healthy, safe and strong. The walking program takes place once a week at Merritt Island in Welland. It is free. Please stay home if you are feeling unwell.

A limited number of Urban/activator poles, Nordic poles and hand weights will be available for the walks but are not required. Stretching and balance exercises will be included. Please wear comfortable clothing suitable for the weather and closed supportive shoes. Don’t forget your water! Walks will be canceled in the event of rain, so please check the weather forecast before leaving home.
