Francophone Immigration Network
For Successful Francophone Immigration!
The Réseau en immigration francophone du Centre-Sud-Ouest de l’Ontario is one of thirteen Francophone immigration networks across Canada, whose aim is to help ensure the successful reception, settlement and integration of French-speaking immigrants where Francophone communities are in the minority, as newcomers are essential to their development.
The Réseau brings together representatives from across a wide range of sectors and provides support by coordinating the recommendation, planning and implementation of initiatives to promote Francophone immigration to central southwestern Ontario.
The role of the Réseau is to:
- Encourage dialogue and partnerships between different sectors (community, private, parapublic and three levels of government)
- Assess the strengths, weaknesses and needs of the community and newcomers according to the different stages of the immigration continuum
- Develop an action plan for Francophone immigration based on the strengths, weaknesses and needs identified and provide guidance for national priorities in relation to Francophone immigration
- Educate, mobilize and support communities and partners in relation to the implementation of the action plan for Francophone immigration
The Réseau is a project funded by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada, under indirect services. It is governed by local committees of community volunteers.
