Ontario’s After School Program (Ages 6 to 12)
The POAAE program supports free after-school activities in priority neighborhoods. The aim is to promote physical activity, healthy eating and well-being in a non-discriminatory environment. Students enjoy a fun, culturally diverse environment where participants feel involved and respected.
After-school program staff prepare physical activity games, cultural and artistic activities, educational workshops and more to ensure that every student’s interests are met.
A healthy snack is offered daily and we offer help with homework two days a week.
Special activities
We also offer special activities in collaboration with other CSCHN staff, such as :
- Activities with our dietician once a week to talk about healthy eating habits and snack ideas.
- Activities with a mental health counselor and a mental health educator to talk about managing emotions, stress, bullying, etc.
- Activities with our School Settlement Workers (SSW) to learn more about the diverse cultures present not only in Canada, but around the world
