Canada Prenatal Nutrition Program (CPNP)
This program aims to educate new mothers on healthy interactions with their babies through prenatal classes, nutrition counselling and postnatal home visits. The program includes:
- Promoting healthy choices during pregnancy
- Preparing for birth
- Breastfeeding
- Awareness of postpartum depression
- Mother-and-baby care after birth
Who is it for? This program is open to expectant and new mothers, their babies of up to one year of age, and their partners.
Baby Talk
The themes explored in this series of workshops for mothers and babies include:
- Child safety
- Introducing solids
- First aid
- Postpartum depression
Who is it for: Workshops are open to new mothers and their babies aged 0 to 12 months.
Workshops for Parents
This series of workshops focuses on parenting skills, education, safety and healthy eating.
- Postpartum depression
- Parent/child bonding
- Burns
- Water safety
- Poisons
- Food safety
- Healthy eating for mother and baby
- Health impacts of obesity
Who is it for? Workshops are open to new mothers and their children aged 0 to 6 years old.
Postnatal Yoga Classes
These classes teach relaxation for both mothers and babies while enhancing babies’ sensory experience and the development of their nervous system.
Who is it for? Classes are open to new mothers and their babies, up to 12 months of age.
