Community Awareness and Prevention Activities


The programme provides the French-speaking community with awareness, education and prevention services on sexual violence and assault.
Workshops are offered to young people and adults on topics such as:
- improving personal safety
- healthy and equal relationships
- women’s rights
- self-esteem
- harassment in the workplace

We work with the community, in partnership with other community organizations in the Niagara and Hamilton regions, to prevent violence and discrimination in order to create a safe and inclusive society, notably through:
- 22 February: National Human Trafficking Awareness Day
- 8 March: International Women’s Day
- May: Sexual Assault Awareness Month
- 5 May: Red Dress Day
- June: Pride Month, Aboriginal History Month, celebration of Saint Jean-Baptiste Day and FrancoFest
- 15 June: International Elder Abuse Awareness Day
- 30 July: World Anti-Trafficking Day
- September: Awareness-raising during orientation week for new university students / Take Back The Night
- 11 October: International Day of the Girl, Women’s History Month
- 25 November to 10 December: 16 Days of Activism campaign against gender-based violence
- 6 December: National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence against Women
